The Body Lift, Tummy Tuck, Breast Lift, Arm Lift, Thigh Lift

Let's begin with the Abdominoplastyor morecommonly called a Tummy Tuck.

I would like to review the different breast lift / augmentation and reduction options:
1. a crescent lift to raise the areola

2. a donut lift will raise the areola, make it smaller and partially lift the breast

3. a vertical lift or mastopexy is used to further lift the breast as well as make the areola smaller

4. a traditional or "T" lift is necessary in larger women with more loss of volume to lift the breast

5. Any of these lifts can and are combined with a breast enlargement if desired using saline (salt water) or silicone gel implants

6. Some patients may wish to improve the contour along the side breast roll with liposuction

Can all of these procedures be done at the same time or in a specific order?

While several procedures can be performed at the same time, it is recommended that others be performed separately. Our goal is a smooth contoured body, but our first priority is safety and optimal healing. Healing in a weight loss patient is tricky! If the weight loss is due to a gastric bypass where nutritional intake and absorption is reduced, healing takes longer and is more complicated. Adequate blood flow with appropriate nutritional levels is required for proper healing.

Breast Lift and Breast Reduction

The Breast Lift can be performed to return thebreasts back to their more firm, youthful look. Forsmall breasted women, silicone or saline implants can be used to add extra fullness to the upperportions of the breasts giving a nice breastcontour. For larger breasted women, the excessbreast tissue can be removed along with the extraskin to give a reduced but fuller, upright, perkybreast shape called the Breast Reduction.

What can be done about the excess skin from massive weight loss?

Simply put, the excess skin is artfully removed and reshaped. Incisions are created in designated areas of the body to tailor the excess skin; lifting and tightening the remaining tissues.
